Scholarship News
The State of Maryland Literacy Association has traditionally provided scholarships for high school seniors and other small grants for our members. Our organization is still recovering from our need to cancel face-to-face conferences during COVID. These conferences were our source for funding of the scholarships.
Our last face-to-face conference was in 2020. Since this last conference we have had three virtual conferences that did not provide funding for the scholarships, but kept our organization afloat. April 3-5, 2023 will be our first face-to-face event since 2020.
Because of our financial situation, SoMLA has made a tough decision, we will not have scholarships or grants this year (2023).
Our hope is to provide resources for other possible scholarships that may be available for high school students. Check back to this page, as we will update it throughout the year. We are sorry for this inconvenience, and hope to regain the ability to help seniors in high school.
