Welcome to the SOMLA Conference 2025, themed "Bridging Young Readers to Forever Readers." I am delighted to introduce myself as Sandy Keaton, the Chair of the State of Maryland Literacy Association's annual conference. This year, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting an in-person event on April 2-3, 2025. As an affiliate of the International Literacy Association, our goal is to provide a platform for educators to expand their knowledge and connect with like-minded professionals.

The 2025 conference will feature high-quality professional learning experiences designed to enhance staff growth and improve student outcomes. Our lineup of speakers includes experienced researchers and practitioners who will provide valuable insights and practical strategies. SoMLA is now accepting proposals for concurrent sessions at the 2025 SoMLA Conference! We invite educators, literacy specialists, and experts to share their knowledge and strategies that align with our theme, "Bridging Young Readers to Forever Readers... Again." If you have an engaging session idea that can inspire and support literacy development, we encourage you to submit a proposal by Friday, December 6, 2024.

Elevate Your Literacy in 60 Minutes by joining free webinars and receive a certificate of participation.  Join online sessions to connect with peers and learn from experts on many topics for all PreK – 12+ educators.  A variety of sessions focusing on literacy will be available leading up to the 2025 conference on April 2-3, 2025.
